Beach volleyball players in traffic lights? Well, if we can put four beach volleyball players on top of Vienna’s iconic Riesenrad Ferris wheel then we can pretty much do anything.
And that’s precisely what we’ve done. Thanks to the helpful people at the city of Vienna, at two locations in the Austrian capital – one just across from the Riesenrad, the other at the Danube Island – fans crossing the street are able to see two beach volleyball players in the lights. Once the player spikes in green, it’s safe to cross!
The A1 Major Vienna presented by Swatch kicks off next week with the beach volleyball elite ready to rock the Danube Island for the third year running. If you’re searching for a new team to support, don’t worry, we’ve hand-picked 10 men’s and 10 women’s teams to choose from.
