Xandi Huber and Robin Seidl start the Main Draw with a three-set victory over Latvia. In the second group match, however, they had to withstand a heavy 16-21 and 9-21 defeat against Dalhausser/Lucena (USA, #1).

Christoph Dressler and Thomas Kunert also started off with a victory beating Chile 2-0 (15,12). Their opponents Semenov/Krasilnikov (fourth in Xiamen) in the second round were a tough nut to crack. However, they lost by a hair’s breath in the deciding set 13-15.

Kathi Schützenhöfer and Lena Plesiutschnig win in the first qualification round against China. After being up 20-18, they lose the first set of the second round 22-24 against Betschart/Hüberli (SUI). The Austrians win the second set with 21-18. However, the third set goes to Switzerland 15-8.

Steffi Schwaiger and Babsi Hansel received a bye in the first round and beat a new team from France, Chamereau (20)/Lusson (20), in two sets. Therefore, they could enter the Main Draw.

The local time in Fuzhou is also six hours ahead.
