Even though they have just been awarded with a silver medal in Xiamen, Steffi and Babsi also have to start with the qualifications again at the second tour stop in China. Actually, the 1,650 seeding points (the deadline was yesterday) would have been enough to qualify for the Main Draw already. However, in Fuzhou, the deadline is three weeks prior to the event and, therefore, the 450 points gained in Xiamen had not been included yet. The points always include the best six results of the latest eight tournaments played within the last 365 days. Nevertheless, there has been a novelty this year: an Open only counts when it improves the team’s results.

In Fuzhou, the men start.

Kunert/Dressler have reached the Main Draw again

1st round bye

2nd round Kunert/Dressler – Burik/Satterfield 2-1 (22-20,18-21,21-12)

Wutzl/Frühbauer beat Japan but lose against Russia

Huber/Seidl are definitely in the Main Draw.

The local time in Fuzhou is also six hours ahead.
